JOB TITLE: Study Nurse
LOCATION: Bathurst, NB
Required Tasks:
Able to evaluate if a study is feasible.
Attend meetings held by Pharmaceutical Companies out of the country.
Complete regulatory documents, have them signed by the appropriate study personnel and send them along to the pharmaceutical companies in a timely fashion.
Able to initiate a research study according to regulations.
Create source documents for study protocols.
Develop strategies for patient recruitment ;( radio, newspaper, meetings with local physicians, search database etc.)
Meet and interview potential research patients referred to the clinic by physicians or other resources.
Develop strategies to encourage potential research patients to want to be included in a study.
Have an excellent understanding and execution of study related procedures for each ongoing study protocol.
Give good nursing care to patients according to “Good Clinical Practice”.
Coordinate patient visits with participating physicians according to their availability.
Keep regulatory binders up to date for all research studies.
Enter subject visits into the internet database within 3 days of their visit.
Keep inventory of study medication up to date on a regular basis.
Ensure the good functioning of the research center as per the demands of the Pharmaceutical Companies, the FDA and/or Health Canada regulatory.
Maintain an inventory of the necessary supplies and equipment needed to ensure proper functioning of the research clinic.
Inform the employer or Site manager of the research clinic and the participating physicians of all new protocols proposed to the site by Pharmaceutical Companies.
Take phone and e-mail messages regularly and follow-up with the information as appropriate.
As needed, act as an intermediate between the pharmaceutical Companies, the investigators and the research centre.
REQUIREMENTS:
Have a valid nurses license and be a active member of the NBNA.
Have valid passport.
Able to use the following computer software with great ease: Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Outlook, E-mail.
Fluently bilingual (both spoken and written).
Have a good understanding of regulatory documents.
Organized, independant and methodical.
Able to recognize the priorities of the research center.
Efficient, able to multitask and able to take initiative.
Available
Have a good personality and able to work well as a team.
Able to work under pressure.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday
The nurse has to organize her time in accordance with the patient’s visit.
SALARY:
RN/BN $52 000-$58 000 (depending on previous experience)
LPN $41 000-$48 000 (depending on previous experience)
Holiday:
3 weeks/ year
