Inspection for Fall Protection Equipment
CHM Management Inc. is pleased to announce that we are now offering Qualified Inspections of Fall Protection Equipment. We offer yearly inspections of your gear at your site or have the equipment shipped to our location. All equipment will be tagged after inspection and a hardcopy of the inspection will remain at your site. We will also keep record of all inspections in our electronic data base.
We are a third party inspection company, we do not sell equipment. Saying that, the only reason we would reject any piece of equipment would be if your worker’s safety was compromised in any way.
Our company promotes “Due Diligence” in the work place. New legislation for fall protection came into effect July 2011. We would like to pass on this piece of the new regulations:
50.4
(1)An owner of a place of employment, an employer and a contractor shall each ensure that each component of a fall-protection system is inspected as follows to determine whether there are any defective or inadequate components:
(a) Visually by the employee before use during a shift; and
(b) By a competent person before initial use and periodically as recommended by the manufacturer, installer or an engineer.
